Cancer-Focused Research

I have been conducting both basic and clinical research in steroid-related aspects of human disease since 1991. I have collaborated with many groups of scientists over the past 20 years to study the roles of estrogen biosynthesis, steroid hormone receptors, signaling pathways, and mesenchymal cells in breast adipose tissue and breast cancer. We performed focused studies to define the regulation of aromatase expression in the adipose tissue, and breast tumor fibroblasts. We also studied the roles of estrogen and progesterone receptors in various physiologic and pathologic tissues including breast cancer and other reproductive tissue tumors.
