Purpose
The purpose of this conference is to enhance nurses' knowledge regarding advances in the care and treatment of individuals and populations with cancer.
Target Audience
Nurses, social workers, and other allied healthcare professionals in the field of oncology
Learning Objectives
- Describe the health system's role in prioritizing equity.
- Understand the different procedures available in the interventional radiology department to treat patients with cancer.
- Introduce an approach of mindfulness to help support and manage caregiver fatigue and compassion fatigue amongst healthcare professionals.
- Provide practical advice to nurses about social drivers of health so they can share the knowledge with patients to improve their cancer treatment journey.
- Describe and characterize how the role of patient advocate is valuable to oncology research and clinical trials.
- Discuss the role and impact that healthcare professionals have when advocating for adolescent and young adult patients with cancer.
- Provide nursing oncology practitioners with practical strategies and best practices for effectively managing and supporting patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy.
