Clinical Research Office (CRO)

676 N. St. Clair, Suite 1200, Chicago

Director: Mark Agulnik, MD
Administrative Director: Renee Webb

The Lurie Cancer Center Clinical Research Office (CRO) provides a centralized resource to facilitate the development, conduct, quality assurance monitoring, compliance with regulatory agency requirements, and evaluation of clinical research trials at the Lurie Cancer Center. As such, the office coordinates the majority of clinical research conducted in medical oncology, malignant hematology, gynecologic-oncology, neuro-oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, and chemoprevention.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

All SOPs, detailing CRO policies and procedures, are available upon request. Please contact Sally Scherer, CRO Quality Control Manager, to request a specific SOP or with general questions about CRO policies and procedures. See the document library for available documents.

Getting Started

Investigators and staff new to working with the CRO and/or NU can access this page to see where to get started. Investigators can also look through the CRO Welcome Packet, a more detailed introduction to CRO research. New Protocol Submission forms are available in the document library.

Scientific Review

The Clinical Protocol Scientific Review and Monitoring System (CPSRMS) provides oversight of all aspects of clinical research conducted at Lurie Cancer Center. Several committees work collaboratively in this effort to form a comprehensive and robust review and monitoring system.

Other institutions' participation is an essential part of both investigator-initiated research and cooperative group research at the Lurie Cancer Center. We value the partnership we have with our ECOG affiliate network, our partnership with institutions participating in NU investigator-initiated trials (IITs), and hope this website will provide an opportunity for enhanced communication and interaction, and advance our collective strength in the area of oncology research.
