Yang Yi, PhD
Assistant Professor, Urology
Research Program
Cancer-Focused Research
The goal of Dr. Yi's research centers on uncovering the previously unrecognized functions of epigenetic modification during normal and pathological bioprocesses, and decoding the potential crosstalk between epigenetics and epitranscriptomics. One of Dr. Yi's research interests is focused on the novel noncanonical roles of histone methyltransferase EZH2 during urological cancer progression. In parallel, Dr. Yi dedicates to investigate the dysregulation of various RNA modifications (e.g., m6A methylation, A-to-I RNA editing and 2′-O-methylation) in cancer and unveil the underlying mechanisms. More importantly, Dr. Yi devotes to elucidate how different epigenetic regulation types are orchestrated to ensure precise gene regulation and facilitate tumorigenesis.
