Cancer-Focused Research
My research interests focus on the histological and phenotypical interpretation of human cancer. As a physician scientist trained in gynecological pathology, my research goal is to discover and develop translational research tools to enhance early detection of and establish targeted therapies for neoplasia in the female reproductive system. Identification of molecular biomarkers that are associated with tumor growth and progression in benign and malignant uterine smooth muscle tumors. In addition, I am interested in characterization of the role of microRNAs in the pathogenesis of benign and malignant tumors in women's reproductive organs through regulation of the target gene expression.
