Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement
Melissa Simon, MD, MPH
Melissa Simon, MD, MPH, the George H. Gardner, MD, Professor of Clinical Gynecology, has been named Associate Director of Community Outreach and Engagement. In this new role, Simon will lead our community partnerships and initiatives to reduce cancer disparities across Chicago and beyond, and will advance advocacy and public policy.
We would like to thank Alexis Thompson, MD, for her leadership over the last decade, and wish her the best in her new role at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania.

Associate Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Sarki A. Abdulkadir, MD, PhD
Sarki A. Abdulkadir, MD, PhD, the John T. Grayhack, MD, Professor of Urological Research, has been named Associate Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In this new role, Abdulkadir will lead the Lurie Cancer Center's efforts to enhance the diversity of the research workforce, promote career-enhancing research opportunities for early- and mid-career researchers from diverse backgrounds, and foster an equitable and inclusive environment throughout the Lurie Cancer Center.

Associate Director of Clinical Operations
Mary Mulcahy, MD
Mary Mulcahy, MD, professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, has been named Associate Director of Clinical Operations. In this role, Mulcahy will focus on the expanding medical oncology clinical operations and infusion services. She will continue to work closely with Jeffrey Wayne, MD, who also serves as Associate Director for Clinical Operations.
