Lurie Cancer Center Named to List of Nation's Best Oncology Programs

Becker's Hospital Review has once again included Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Lurie Cancer Center to its annual list of "100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs."

Each organization has demonstrated a focus on patient-centered cancer care and emphasis on continual innovation in treatments and services, and is selected by the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team based on clinical accolades, quality care and contributions to the field of oncology.

"The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation is a pillar for cancer care in the Chicagoland area," Becker's notes. "It received National Cancer Institute designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center in 1998 and offers access to more than 300 interventional clinical trials. Northwestern and the Lurie Cancer Center treat nearly 10,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year."

Becker's Hospital Review is a bimonthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems and each issue reaches more than 18,000 readers.
