Honoring a Mother's Memory with Recipes and Stories

Bittersweet Memories, Emily Hoffman What do you get when you mix a pinch of memory, a dash of grief, a dollop of deliciousness and a heaping spoonful of love?
"A Blending of Bittersweet Memories," a cookbook dedicated to those who have lost a loved one.

A compilation of story/recipes collected from food-lovers across the world, "A Blending of Bittersweet Memories" combines mouthwatering dishes with loving, relatable recollections. The book recognizes the intricate fusion of food and memories—offering recipes that range from easy to challenging.

On January 23, 2006, Emily Hoffman lost her mother, Renée Israel, to a long, hard-fought battle against breast cancer. The Renee Israel Foundation, formed by David Israel and his daughters, Ivy, Jamie, and Emily in memory of their late wife and mother, has contributed annually to the Lurie Cancer Center.

A portion of the proceeds from "A Blending of Bittersweet Memories" will also be donated to advance breast cancer research at the Lurie Cancer Center. Click here to purchase the book.
