Teresa Woodruff: In the News...March 2007

Teresa Woodruff, PhD, Associate Director of Basic Sciences at the Cancer Center, has an especially high profile this month. In addition to the article in the March issue of TCW Magazine, Woodruff is featured in March 8th's "Observer" for her work with students from the Young Women's Leadership Charter School. Woodruff is Executive Director of the new Institute for Women's Health Research and the Thomas J. Watkins Memorial Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Feinberg School of Medicine. She hosted the girls on three successive Saturdays to give them the experience of being mentored by scientists, lab scholars and current undergraduates as well as hands on laboratory instruction. The charters school brings together young women with a wide range of cultural and backgrounds from more than 30 different Chicago communities.
