The New Science of Cancer

In the past decade, the medical community’s understanding of cancer – how it works, how to diagnose it and treat it – has changed dramatically.

The International Women Associates (IWA), in partnership with Northwestern Memorial Foundation, invited leading physicians and scientists from the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University to discuss advances that are leading to breakthroughs in the prevention and diagnosis of cancer, as well innovative, personalized approaches to treatment.

Following the program featuring Lurie Cancer Center Director, Dr. Leonidas Platanias, and Dr. Massimo Cristofanilli, Director of the OncoSET precision medicine program, guests of the IWA were invited to tour Research Laboratories at the Lurie Cancer Center.
