Gius Named Vice Chair for Translational Research, Radiation Oncology

David Gius, MD, PhD, has been named Vice Chair for Translational Research in Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s Department of Radiation Oncology.

Gius, a Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Interim Co-Leader of the Women’s Cancer Research Program at the Lurie Cancer Center, studies connections between longevity, cellular processes, and cancer development. Specifically, his lab focuses on breast cancer and the sirtuin gene family.  Gius joined Feinberg in 2012 from Vanderbilt University’s Ingram Cancer Center. Previously, he served as Associate Director of the National Institutes of Health Oxford/Cambridge Scholars Program and as Chief of the National Cancer Institute’s Molecular Radiation Oncology Section.
