Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials

A Randomized Phase III Clinical Trial Evaluating Post-Mastectomy Chestwall and Regional Nodal XRT and Post-Lumpectomy Regional Nodal XRT in Patients with Positive Axillary Nodes Before Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Who Convert to Pathologically Negative Axillary Nodes After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy

The main purpose of this clinical trial is to study patients with positive nodes before chemotherapy who become negative after chemotherapy to see1) if, after lumpectomy (surgery to remove cancer), radiation to the breast and lymph nodes will be better than radiation only to the breast at keeping cancer from returning, and 2) if, after mastectomy (surgery to remove part or all of one or both breasts), radiation to the area where the breast used to be and to the lymph nodes is better than no radiation at keeping cancer from returning.

Status: Accepting New Patients
Principal Investigator: Eric Donnelly

Pazopanib Neoadjuvant Trial In Non-Rhabdomyosarcoma Soft Tissue Sarcomas (PAZNTIS): A Phase II/III Randomized Trial of Preoperative Chemoradiation or Preoperative Radiation Plus or Minus Pazopanib (NSC# 737754, IND# 118613)

The goal of this study is to find out what effects (good and/or bad) pazopanib given with both chemotherapy and radiation therapy has on people with intermediate and high risk non-Rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcomas (NRSTS).

Principal Investigator: David Walterhouse

Phase III Randomized Study of Concurrent Chemotherapy and Pelvic Radiation Therapy with or without Adjuvant Chemotherapy in High-Risk Patients with Early-Stage Cervical Carcinoma Following Radical Hysterectomy

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects, good and/or bad, of giving additional chemotherapy to patients after the usual treatment of chemotherapy and radiation for cervical cancer.

Status: Accepting New Patients
Principal Investigator: Eric Donnelly

A Phase III Study of Postoperative Radiation Therapy (IMRT) +/- Cetuximab for Locally-Advanced Resected Head and Neck Cancer

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects, good and/or bad, of radiation therapy alone versus radiation therapy and cetuximab on head and neck cancer after surgery.

Status: Accepting New Patients
Principal Investigator: Bharat Mittal

A Phase II/III trial of Neoadjuvant FOLFOX, with Selective Use of Combined Modality Chemoradiation versus Preoperative Combined Modality Chemoradiation for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Patients Undergoing Low Anterior Resection with Total Mesorectal Excision

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects, both good and bad, of the standard chemotherapy (5-fluorouracil/capecitabine) and radiation to chemotherapy using a combination regimen known as FOLFOX, (5-fluorouracil [5-FU}, oxaliplatin and leucovorin) prior to surgery.

Status: Accepting New Patients
Principal Investigator: Amy Halverson
