The Cancer Prevention Program of the Lurie Cancer Center presents a half day seminar for clinicians and researchers: Cancer Prevention with Drugs: Improving Existing Solutions and Finding New Ones

Despite successful clinical trials of chemopreventive agents, utilization is hampered by concerns about toxicity, efficacy, and poor selection of groups most likely to benefit. The current generation of clinical trials is focused on the repurposing of established agents in the cardiovascular and diabetes arena (statins and metformin), and on developing novel ways of local drug delivery to at-risk organs. These innovations, based on solid science, will be discussed by a distinguished panel of speakers and will be of interest to a broad range of clinicians (from primary care to cancer subspecialties), prevention researchers, and laboratory researchers who are interested in extending their work to the rewarding field of cancer prevention.

Admission is complimentary but advance registration is required. Please note that space is limited.
